A free kick will be awarded if a player who wins a kickout mark is impeded.
The GAA has confirmed that the Central Council has approved an amendment to the rule surrounding a player being challenged after a kickout mark is taken.
Under the new rule, which comes into effect this weekend, a free kick will be awarded if a player who wins a kickout mark is impeded.
This is a change from the initial rule in place this year, which saw the ball being brought forward by 50-metres if a player was challenged after taking a mark.
