Chelsea have confirmed Alonso as their new manager on a four-year contract.
Chelsea have announced that Xabi Alonso will become the club's next manager from July 1st.
The former Liverpool and Real Madrid midfielder has signed a four-year deal at Stamford Bridge.
Alonso replaces interim boss Callum McFarlane, who took charge following the departure of Liam Rosenior last month.
The 44-year-old enjoyed major success with Bayer Leverkusen before a short spell in charge of Real Madrid earlier this season.
