Cronin Departs Republic Of Ireland Assistant Coaching Role

Gary Cronin has stepped down as assistant coach of the Republic of Ireland women's team after less than seven months in the role.

Gary Cronin has left his position as assistant coach with the Republic of Ireland women's national team, just seven months after his appointment.

Cronin joined Carla Ward's coaching staff in January and was involved in all six of Ireland's World Cup qualifiers, including victories over Poland and the Netherlands.

The FAI has begun the search for a new assistant coach ahead of Ireland's World Cup play-off against Kazakhstan in October.

Cronin said it had been an honour to represent his country and wished the squad every success in the upcoming qualifiers.
