The draws for the Sam Maguire and Tailteann Cup take place this afternoon.

Following their relegation from Division 2 and defeat against Louth in the Leinster semi final, Kildare will compete in the second tier competition.

The draw will establish four groups of four and Kildare are top seeds along with Down, Fermanagh and Sligo.

Second seeds are Antrim, Offaly, Laois and Longford.

While the fourth seeds are Carlow, Tipperary, London and Waterford.

The opening round of fixtures take place on the weekend of May 18th and 19th.
