The Department of Sport made the announcement today
The Department of Sport has announced €4 million investment under their Women in Sport Programme in 2026.
The allocation is double the amount invested by the State four years ago, and is designed to promote women's involvement in sport, including active participation, coaching, and governance.
According to the Irish Sports Monitor 2025, 46 per cent of Irish women participate in sport weekly - down one per cent from the previous year.
