Rovers have thanked Dundalk for the club's 'swift action' in identifying the individual involved.
The FAI and Shamrock Rovers have both issued statements condemning alleged racist remarks made to Hoops defender Roberto Lopes.

The FAI and the League of Ireland are liaising with the two clubs and will support any action taken by Dundalk.
The association has also pledged to take further action if required.
