The first round of the Genesis Invitational gets underway this afternoon.

Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry are both in action in Southern California.

McIlroy tees off alongside Collin Morikawa and Ryder Cup teammate Tommy Fleetwood in Southern California just after 5.05pm Irish Time.

Lowry is out on course just before 4.40pm.

Meanwhile, Leona Maguire has made a strong start at the Honda LPGA Thailand.

The Cavan golfer carded an opening-round 67 to sit on five-under-par and in a tie for sixth.

That's just two shots off the lead after Day 1.
