In the top match, Jon Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton are two up on Scottie Scheffler and Sam Burns after eight holes.

Viktor Hovland and Ludvig Aberg are one up on Max Homa and Brian Harman in the second match.

Shane Lowry and Sepp Straka are all square with Rickie Fowler and Collin Morikawa through two holes.

And Rory McIlroy and Tommy Fleetwood are one up on Xander Schauffele and Patrick Cantlay

Following last week's Solheim Cup, European star Leona Maguire returns to action on the LPGA Tour today.

The Cavan native is in the field for the Arkansas Championship, with Stephanie Meadow also teeing it up at the Pinnacle Country Club.


GAELIC GAMES

All-Ireland champions Dublin lead the way with 10 nominations for this year's football All-Stars.

Beaten finalists Kerry have nine players shortlisted, with Derry receiving seven nominations.

Kerry forward David Clifford is nominated for Footballer of the Year, alongside Dublin's Brian Fenton and Brendan Rogers of Derry.

Derry pair Eoin McEvoy and Ethan Doherty are in the running for Young Player of the Year with Roscommon goalkeeper Conor Carroll.

The winners will be announced at a banquet in Dublin in mid-November.



RUGBY

New Zealand take on Italy in Pool A of the Rugby World Cup in Lyon tonight.

The All-Blacks go into the game third in the group after one win and a loss.

Last night, Japan beat Samoa by 28 points to 22 in Toulouse.

The result sees Japan move into second spot in Pool D.


SOCCER

There's a full round of fixtures in the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division tonight.

League leaders Shamrock Rovers are five points clear at the summit ahead of the visit of Shelbourne to Tallaght Stadium.

While second placed Derry City host already relegated UCD and third placed St. Pat's go to Cork City.

Elsewhere, Dundalk entertain Drogheda in a Louth derby at Oriel Park and Bohemians face Sligo Rovers at Dalymount Park with all of those games underway at 7.45.


RACING

The first of seven races at Gowran Park goes to post at 5-past-2 this afternoon.

While an eight race card gets underway at Dundalk from 25-to-5.
