Regarded as one of the greatest defenders of all time, Baresi won six league titles and three European Cups with AC Milan

He was also part of the Italy side that lifted the World Cup in 1982, and captained his country at the 1990 and 1994 editions of the tournament.

Shelbourne have set up a meeting with Dutch giants Ajax in the third qualifying round of the Conference League.

Despite a 2-1 defeat to Kalju in Estonia last night, John Russell's side were 6-4 winners on aggregate.

Shamrock Rovers can move 10 points clear at the top of the SSE Airtricity Men's Premier Division tonight.

The Hoops travel to Drogheda United, fresh from a narrow defeat in their Champions League qualifier in midweek.

The other game tonight sees Dundalk host bottom side Sligo Rovers.
