GAA

The Intermediate and Junior Club football championships begin this evening,
continuing tomorrow and Sunday.

This evening in the Intermediate Football Championship Ballyteague play Miltown in St. Conleths, 7.45pm

Then from 8pm Ardclough play Athgarvan in Hawkfield, Pitch 1, at 8pm.

A reminder that this mornings Kildare Today from 10.40am and this evening from 6.25pm, Kfm will preview all of the Kildare weekend sporting action.

 

SOCCER

Shelbourne boss John Russell says they're "still in the tie", despite defeat in their Conference League qualifier first leg against Ajax.

Dan Kelly scored late on in Amsterdam last night, to leave it 3-1 on aggregate heading to Tolka Park next week.
 

Bohemians' European hopes are hanging in the balance this morning.

Alan Reynold's side lost their first leg 2-nil to Midtjylland at Tallaght Stadium.
 

It's a busy night in the SSE Airtricity Men's Premier Division this evening

Derry City face bottom side Sligo Rovers.

Shamrock Rovers are seven points clear at the top of the table ahead of tonight's action.

They're at home to Dundalk, who are chasing a first league win in six games.

While Galway United play Drogheda United.

 

It's an even busier night in the League of Ireland First Division,

Cork City welcome Kerry, Cobh Ramblers host Treaty United, Wexford travel to UCD,

Bray Wanderers are at home against Finn Harps, and it's derby day for Athlone Town and Longford Town.

All matches get underway tonight at 7.45pm.

 

UEFA say that they still plan to boycott FIFA tournaments, in protest against President Gianni Infantino.

The under-pressure football chief was given the "full support" of senior FIFA staff at a crisis meeting in Morocco on Wednesday.

 

GOLF
Áine Donegan is three shots off the lead heading into her second round at the PIF London Championship this morning.

The Clare golfer shot an opening-round 70 yesterday to sit on three-under-par, with Canada's Anna Huang leading the way on six-under.

She's back out on course just before 9 at the Centurion Club.

Anna Foster has moved up to one-under early on Day 2.

Sara Byrne will resume from two-over at around 7:50pm.

 

RACING

There's a seven-race card at Gowran Park where the first race goes to post at 5.05pm.

There's also a seven race card in Wexford, underway from 4.45pm.
