Pádraig Harrington is firmly in contention heading into the final day of the US Senior Open after climbing to second place with a superb third-round performance at Scioto Country club.
The Dubliner carded a four-under-par 66, mixing six birdies with two bogeys to move to eight under for the tournament, just one stroke behind American Stewart Cink.
Harrington is chasing a third US Senior Open title and will play in the final group on Sunday ash he looks to add another major crown to his impressive senior career.
There was also a strong showing from fellow Irishman Darren Clarke, whose brilliant six-under 64 lifted him into a share of fifth place on three under overall.
Royal Portrush's Chris Devlin is also well placed heading into the closing round, sitting tied for 11th on one under par.
