Irish Swimmers Claim Three Medals At Rome Meet

Ireland enjoyed another successful outing at the Sette Colli meeting in Rome, winning silver and bronze medals.

Ireland's swimmers continued their strong preparations for this summer's major championships with three more medals at the Sette Colli meeting in Rome.

Ellen Walshe secured silver in the women's 400 metres individual medley after producing one of the fastest performances of her career.

Mona McSharry added to her medal haul by taking bronze in the 50 metres breaststroke.

Olympic champion Daniel Wiffen also finished third in the men's 800 metres freestyle, while his brother Nathan Wiffen placed tenth in the same event.

Lottie Cullen recorded a fifth-place finish in the women's 100 metres backstroke final, with Danielle Hill winning the B final, while John Shortt finished seventh in the men's A final.
