GAA & Camogie Association to work together over sponsorship & broadcast deals

SOCCER

European champions Italy will have to settle for a World Cup play off after being held to a scoreless draw by Northern Ireland in Belfast.

Conor Washington saw a late chance for Northern Ireland cleared off the line.

With Switzerland winning 4-0 against Bulgaria, they qualified for the finals in Qatar.

England have also qualified after they trounced San Marino 10-0, with Harry Kane scoring four times.

Scotland will have a home play off next March after they beat Denmark 2-0 in Glasgow.

Tonight, Wales face Belgium in Cardiff.

Meanwhile, Republic of Ireland midfielder Jason Knight says Stephen Kenny deserves a new deal.

The manager's contract expires next summer, but he's tipped to lead the Boys in Green into the Euro 2024 qualifiers after a run of improved performances.

Knight says everyone in the squad is behind Kenny:

The Republic of Ireland Under 21's face Sweden in a European Championship qualifier later.

Kick off at Tallaght Stadium is at 7pm.

RUGBY

The Irish Rugby Football Union will not publish the report into the failure of the Women's team to qualify for the World Cup.

The Union will instead publish key findings of the independent review which will be delivered by former Wales international Amanda Bennett.

GAELIC GAMES

It's emerged that the GAA will work in tandem with the Camogie Association over sponsorship and broadcast deals for the next three years.

CRICKET

The racism scandal in English cricket could worsen today.

Former Yorkshire bowler Azeem Rafiq will appear in front of a select committee of UK MP's later.

He has accused former Yorkshire teammate Michael Vaughan of making a racist comment towards four Asian players in 2009.

The ex-England captain strenuously denies the allegation.

HORSE RACING

There's 8 races over jumps at Limerick today, with the first off at 12.15pm.
