Katie Taylor On Hiatus To 'Attend To Personal Matters'

The undisputed super-lightweight world champion was last in action in July, when she defeated Amanda Serrano at Madison Square Garden

Katie Taylor is set to take a spell away from boxing to 'attend to personal matters', according to WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman.

The undisputed super-lightweight world champion was last in action in July, when she defeated Amanda Serrano at Madison Square Garden.

With Taylor away from the sport for a period, she will now be recognised as 'Champion in Recess'.

Sandy Ryan will take Taylor's place for a bout with Chantelle Cameron for the vacant WBC belt.
