GAELIC GAMES

On Sunday Kildare will play Kerry in Glenn Ryan's first Allianz League match as Kildare manager.

Kildare's most recent former manager, Jack O'Connor, will be leading Kerry to St. Conleth's Park.

KFM will have full commentary of the game from 1.30pm, with Ger McNally and former Kildare defender, and U21 manager Peter McConnon - in association with Hanlon Concrete Products, Robertstown.

The match throws-in at 1.45pm.

Glenn Ryan is looking forward to the game:

This morning's 'Kildare Today' - at 10.45am - will preview the weekend's action.

SOCCER

Liverpool are believed to be on the verge of signing Colombian winger Luis Diaz for a fee of around €60 million euro, including add ons.

The 25 year-old has scored 16 goals for Porto this season and he's made 31 appearances for Colombia.

Tottenham were seen as the front runners to snap up the player, but it appears Liverpool may have hijacked the move.

TENNIS

Spain's Rafael Nadal is into an Australian Open men's singles final for a sixth time.

He defeated Matteo Berrettini of Italy by 3 sets to 1 at the Rod Laver Arena.

Nadal will now face reigning US Open champion Daniil Medvedev or fourth seed Stefanos Tsitsipas, that match beginning at 8.30am Irish time.

35 year-old Nadal will now bid for a record 21st men's singles grand slam title on Sunday.

GOLF

Richard Bland, Erik Van Rooyen and Joachim B Hansen share the lead on 9 under par on day two of the Dubai Desert Classic.

Padraig Harrington is 3 under par for the tournament through 11 holes of his second round.

Shane Lowry, Rory Mcllroy and Jonathan Caldwell all tee off from 1 under par within the hour.

Over on the PGA Tour, world number one Jon Rahm, Justin Thomas and Adam Schenk share the lead on 13 under par at the halfway stage of the Farmers Insurance Open in California.

At the Gainbridge LPGA tournament in Florida, Leona Maguire has work to do to make the cut.

She is 1 over par, 10 shots behind leader Lydia Ko.

Stephanie Meadow is 3 over par.

BOXING

Katie Taylor says her fight with Amanda Serrano will be an iconic moment for Madison Square Garden.

The pair will be the first female boxers to headline the 20 thousand seat New York venue.

Taylor will come face-to-face with the seven-weight world champion on Saturday April 30th.

RACING

There's a seven-race card at Dundalk this evening, with the first race off at 4.30pm.
