Defending champions Cavan put their Ulster football title on the line today.

They will hope to put some poor league form behind them as they meet Tyrone in the quarter-finals.

Throw-in at Healy Park in Omagh is at half-four.

Elsewhere, the two Munster semi-finals are also down for decision.

Holders Tipperary host Kerry at Semple Stadium from 7pm.

Before that at 3pm, Limerick take on Cork at the LIT Gaelic Grounds.



Antrim and Laois meet in the All-Ireland Hurling championship preliminary round qualifier this afternoon.

There's a half-two start at Parnell Park, with the loser facing relegation to the Joe McDonagh Cup.

Two All-Ireland titles are up for grabs at underage level this evening.

Galway will attempt to win their fourth title in a row when they meet Kilkenny in the 2020 minor hurling final at O'Moore Park from 5pm.

At a quarter-past-7 in Nowlan Park, Dublin and Cork clash in the 2020 U-20 hurling decider.

All-Ireland champions Dublin are among the sides in first-round action in the All-Ireland Ladies Senior Football Championship this afternoon.

Mick Bohan's charges meet Tyrone in Kingspan Breffini from 2pm.

Birr is the venue for the meeting of Cork and Meath.

Last night, Galway beat Kerry by 2-11 to 2-10 in Ennis.


RUGBY

Three Irish players are in the British and Irish Lions starting team for today's clash with the Sharks.

Tadhg Furlong, Tadhg Beirne and Jack Conan are all listed to start.

With Conor Murray among the replacements, England's Jamie George has been named as captain.

The Lions beat the Sharks 54-7 on Wednesday.
 

Kick-off is at 5pm in Pretoria.

James Ryan is set to captain the side, with Ulster quartet Tom O'Toole, Nick Timoney, James Hume and Robert Balacounce all primed to win their first caps.

There's one game in the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division this evening.

Longford Town host Drogheda United at Bishopsgate from half-seven.

Last night, St Pats moved level on points with leaders Shamrock Rovers and Sligo Rovers after a one-nil win over Derry City.

Waterford won by the same scoreline away to Finn Harps.

Second-placed Peamount United play Bohemians, with DLR Waves host Cork City.

Both of those games kick-off at 4pm, with the meeting of Athlone Town and Wexford Youths underway from 7pm.


TENNIS

It's women's singles final day at Wimbledon.

Top seed Ash Barty meets the Czech Republic's Karolina Pliskova in the decider on Centre Court this afternoon.

Australian Barty is seeking a first Wimbledon title, while Pliskova is bidding for a first-ever Grand Slam.

GOLF

Padraig Harrington is four shots off the lead ahead of the third round of the Scottish Open.

The Dubliner is at seven-under, with Thomas Detry, Jon Rahm and Jack Senior leading the field on 11-under.

Harrington tees off at twenty-to-12, with Cormac Sharvin set to resume from six-under.

Seamus Power is six shots off the lead at midway point of the John Deere Classic on the P-G-A Tour.

The Waterford man carded a second-round 67 last night to move to seven-under-par.

Luke List leads by one shot into the weekend at 13-under.


RACING

There's racing here at home at both Navan and Limerick.

The first of eight races in Navan goes off at 1pm.

The action is underway at Limerick 20 minutes later, where there's also an eight-race card.
