Event to highlight careers, innovation and skills in Ireland’s €3.4bn equine industry
Kildare County Council is set to host a major Equine Summit at the Curragh Racecourse on Thursday March 5th.
The event will bring together leaders from the equine, education and enterprise sectors to explore career pathways, youth engagement, innovation and sustainability within Ireland’s thriving horse industry.
Keynote speakers will include Kildare South TD and Minister for Agriculture Martin Heydon, Kildare North TD and Higher Education Minister James Lawless and MEP Nina Carbery.
The council says hosting the summit in Kildare — regarded as the heart of Ireland’s thoroughbred and sport horse sector — reflects the county’s central role in breeding, training and equestrian services.
According to the council, the equine industry contributes an estimated €3.4 billion annually to the Irish economy and supports around 75,000 jobs nationwide.
The free event will be moderated by Brendan McArdle of The Irish Field, with full details available through the Local Enterprise Office Kildare website.
