Kildare GAA County Board Report Income Of Approx €700,000; Ballymore Eustace Appoint Mark Murnaghan As New Men's Senior Football Manager

Spurs V Rennes game called off due to Covid-19 outbreak

The annual Kildare GAA county board convention took place online last night.

The county board reported income of approximately €700,000.

A quarter of a million euro will be allocated to St. Conleth's Park development - bringing the total set aside to €1 million.

Another €250,000 is being allocated to Manguard Plus Hawkfield, with an additional quarter of million to increase parking at the venue.

There will be only one change of officer next year, PRO Dave Cahill will not will be seeking a second year, and will replaced by Naas GAA's Lorraine O'Connor.

Yesterday Ballymore Eustace GAA announced the appointment of Mark Murnaghan as the Men's Senior Football Manager for 2022.

Mark will be joined by former Moorefield player Niall Hurley Lynch, as part of the management team.

The pair most recently won an All Ireland with the Wicklow Ladies earlier this year, with Mark as manager & Niall as coach.

Elsewhere, Limerick have been awarded a record 12 hurling all stars from this year's GAA / GPA awards.

John Kiely's side beat Cork by 16 points in the All Ireland final back in August, and for the first time in the 50 year history of the All Stars, there are no representatives of the All Ireland runners up on the team.

The other three players selected are Kilkenny's Eoin Murphy in goal, Conor Prunty of Waterford at full back and Tony Kelly of Clare at right corner forward.

SOCCER

Tottenham's Europa League game against Rennes tonight has been called off by UEFA.

8 Spurs players have tested positive for Covid-19, and their training ground has been closed.

Barcelona have been knocked out of the Champions League at the Group stage.

They lost 3-0 away to Bayern Munich last night.

Manchester United had already qualified for the last 16 as Group winners.

They drew 1-1 with Young Boys.

Mason Greenwood scored the goal as interim boss Ralf Rangnick made 11 changes from the win over Crystal Palace.

SNOOKER

Fergal O'Brien has won again at snooker's Scottish Open, beating Gary Wilson 4-1.

CRICKET

Australia have made 343 runs for the loss of 7 wickets at the close of play on day two of the first Ashes test against England in Brisbane.

They had already bowled England out for 147.
