Kildare Girls Crowned Galway Cup Champions After Outstanding Unbeaten Run

They beat Cavan-Monaghan 2-0 in the final, securing the trophy and maintaining a perfect defensive record in the competition.

The Kildare and District Underage League's (KDUL) 2013 girls have been crowned Galway Cup champions, completing a superb tournament without conceding a single goal.

The Kildare side topped their group after three wins from three, scoring seven goals without reply.

Before producing an emphatic 4-0 victory over Roscommon to book their place in the decider.

They completed the job with a 2-0 win over Cavan-Monaghan in the final, securing the trophy and maintaining their perfect defensive record throughout the competition.

It caps an exceptional week for the young Kildare footballers, who represented the county with distinction at one of the county's major underage soccer tournaments.
