Kildare Hurlers Play In The Christy Ring Final today

And more GAA sports action updates from the weekend

The Kildare hurlers play Derry in the Christy Ring Cup final this afternoon in Croke Park.

Throw in is at 2.15pm and Kfm will have commentary with Seamus Dillon and Pat Costello in association with Hanlon Concrete Robertstown.

Brian Dowling’s side won by seven points when the two met earlier in the competition.

Last night, in the Tailteann Cup, Kildare Senior Footballers lead Leitrim by only 2 points going into the final quarter but ran out 7 point winners in the end, on a scoreline of 1-16 to 12 points. Kildare now advance to the quarter finals in a fortnight. The Preliminary Quarter-Final Draw will take place this evening around 5.40 and Sunday Sportsbeat with Eoin Beatty will have the fixtures.

Kildare minor footballers defeated Galway yesterday 1-13 to 1-9 and will now progress to the semi final of the Paul McGirr Cup.

In round 2 of the camogie intermediate championship Antrim had no reply to Kildare's 3-26.

Of the 5 games today in the football championship round robin, Armagh's visit to Celtic Park in Derry is probably the highlight. That throws-in at 4.

Tyrone take on Clare in the opening game of the day at 1:30pm.

Half an hour later, it's Meath vs Kerry at Pairc Tailteann.

It's a 3pm start for the clash of Westmeath and Galway.

Monaghan and Louth throws in at 3:30pm while old rivals Derry and Armagh meet at 4pm.
