An early Louth goal and points had them 5 points ahead. But a Ronan Kelly two pointer followed by two Ruairi Lawler two pointers saw Kildare lead by one point at half time.
The 2nd half was point for point until the closing stages when Ronan Kelly and Jimmy Lynch points clinched the win,
