Kildare's minor hurlers were denied a place in the Peadar O Liathain Cup final after Offaly produced a strong second-half comeback to win 4-12 to 2-14 in Kilcormac.
Brian Murnane's side were in outstanding form in the opening half and ed by 2-12 to 4 points at the break.
However, Offaly came out with renewed intensity after half-time and chipped away at the deficit before hitting four goals.
Despite the disappointment, Kildare can take positives from an excellent first-half performance.
