Kildare's 1-25 to 0-25 loss to Louth confirmed their relegation to Division 3.
Kildare have been relegated to Division 3 of the Allianz Football League in their final game of the campaign.
Playing at St Conleth's Park, Kildare were beaten 1-25 to 0-25 with Louth's 58th minute goal proving the crucial difference between the sides.
Despite a strong scoring return of 25 points, Kildare were unable to avoid the drop, bringing an end to a difficult Division 2 campaign.
Elsewhere in the division, Derry secured a 1-20 to 0-19 win over Cavan at Celtic Park.
Meath produced an impressive display to defeat Offaly 2-22 to 0-18.
And Cork came out on top against Tyrone, winning 0-22 to 0-19.
The final round brought a decisive end to the Division 2 standings, with Kildare now preparing for life in Division 3 next season. While Cork and Meath secured promotion to Division 1.
