St Kilda said that they "understand how much home means."
The Irish Examiner are reporting that Kobe McDonald has been given permission by St Kilda to play for Crossmolina in the Mayo football championship.
McDonald's teammates Eamonn Armstrong, who represents Meath club Duleek/Bellewstown, and Liam O'Connell, who plays for Cork's Ballincollig, have also been granted the opportunity to play in their respective county championships.
St Kilda said that they "understand how much home means to each of these boys, and we didn't want to stand in the way of this opportunity to represent the communities and clubs they come from."
