Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has apologised to the club's fans after last night's EFL Cup second round defeat to League Two side Grimsby Town.

United lost on 12-11 on penalties at Blundell Park after the game finished 2-2.

Elsewhere, Seamus Coleman featured for Everton in their 2-0 win over Mansfield Town, while Fulham beat Bristol City by the same scoreline.

Brighton were 6-0 winners over Oxford.
