Rory McIlroy remains firmly in the hunt for a second major title of the year heading into the final round of the PGA Championship in Pennsylvania.

The Holywood golfer carded a third-round 66 to move to four under par, leaving him two shots behind American Alex Smalley.

McIlroy tees off at 7.05pm (IST) alongside defending champion Xander Schauffele.

Padraig Harrington begins his final round at level par and is tied for 31st, while Shane Lowry starts the day on four over par.

Alex Smalley still leads the tournament on six under par, with a tightly packed leaderboard setting up an intriguing finish.
