Rory McIlroy is four shots off the lead heading into the weekend.
Rory McIlroy has climbed into the top 10 at the Truist Championship after a strong second round at Quail Hollow.
The Northern Irishman carded a five-under-par 66, helped by five birdies in seven holes on the back nine, to move to five under for the tournament.
A bogey at the final hole took some of the shine off the round, but McIlroy remains firmly in contention.
McIlroy is a four-time winner at Quail Hollow and will be aiming to close the gap ahead of next week's US PGA Championship.
