McIlroy Two Shots Back Heading Into BMW PGA Championship Final Round

Rory McIlroy remains firmly in contention for the BMW PGA Championship after finishing the third round just two shots off the lead at Wentworth.

The Northern Irishman carded a three-under 69 on Saturday to move to 11-under overall, putting him among a crowded group chasing leaders Filippo Celli and Manuel Elvira on 13-under.

McIlroy finished strongly, playing the final two holes in three-under to keep himself within striking distance ahead of today's final round.

Shane Lowry is also inside the top half of the leaderboard after another 69, leaving the Irish Open champion on seven-under, six shots off the pace.

McIlroy is chasing a second BMW PGA Championship title, having previously won the event in 2014.
