The Republic of Ireland's final match at the World Cup vs Nigeria in Brisbane has ended in a scoreless draw.

Ireland held their own in the first half, with a left-footed shot from Katie McCabe early on almost breaking the deadlock.

Nigeria came closest to scoring but were prevented by some great goalkeeping by Courtney Brosnan.

Australia are through after beating Canada 3 nil

Japan had a 4-nil win over Spain to top the standings in Group C.

Spain advance in second place.

In the same group, Zambia beat Costa Rica by three goals to one.

Dublin are celebrating a 31st ll-Ireland football title.

Captain James McCarthy collected a record ninth All-Ireland medal along with Stephen Cluxton and Mick Fitzimons.

McCarthy refused to be drawn on whether yesterday was his last appearance for Dublin.
