Narrow Defeat for Kildare; Eadestown's Jimmy O'Brien Called into Ireland Rugby Squad, This Evening, 6.30pm, Kildare Scoreboard , interviews with Glenn Ryan, Daniel Flynn, U20 Manager Brian Flanagan, Clane jockey Mark Walsh .

Yesterday saw another narrow defeat for Kildare footballers when Tyrone got their first win of this year's league, winning 2-7 to 12 points,

Kildare dominated for the majority of the game, but did not score during a 23-minute spell in the first half, with the wind in their favour.

They led 8 points to 4 at the interval

That domination continued in the 2nd half, but Kildare conceded two goals, the first shortly after half time.

Daniel Flynn caused all sorts of problems for the Tyrone defence, scoring and setting up points

This evening’s Kildare Scoreboard from 6.30 will include the full interviews with Glenn Ryan and Daniel Flynn

Next up for Kildare is Dublin in St. Conleth’s Park next Sunday.  On the Table, Kildare have 1 point, while Dublin have none.

On Saturday, the county’s U20 side played a draw with Laois in the John Kerin’s Cup.

This evening’s Scoreboard, from 6.30, will have the match report and interview with manager Brian Flanagan.

Kildare women’s Lidl National Football League game away to Longford was called off yesterday

Pearse Park was unplayable.  The match has been re-fixed for the same venue next Sunday at 2pm.

Kildare senior Camogie team had their opening game in the Llittlewoods Ireland league 1 against Corks second team in Hawkfield  on Saturday
 
First outing  under manager Joe Quaid .
 
Kildare performed well in the first half to trail by 3 points at halftime 1-7 to 1-4. 
 
Kildare opened the 2n half with a goal from Ciara Egan (Clane) 
 
But a stronger Cork side finished the game 4-16 to Kildare's 2-6.

James Lowe has been added to the Ireland squad ahead of this weekend's Six Nations clash with Italy.

The Leinster winger missed the first two rounds of the tournament due to a muscle injury.

Eadestown’s Jimmy O'Brien has also been called up by head coach Andy Farrell.

In Division 2B, MU Barnhall lost 34-27 away to Old Crescent.

The Limerick side led 31 nil at half time. MU Barnhall scored three tries in the 2nd half, but just came up short.
