The 75 year wait for the Sam Maguire is over for Mayo, as they wake up All Ireland Champions for the first time since 1951.

They defeated 2025 champions Kerry with a resounding 1-20 to 1-17 to bring their drought to an end.

A stunning second half display saw the Westerners, helped in part by a Darragh Beirne goal, helped avoid a late fightback from the Kingdom.

Today, they'll continue the tradition of attending Crumlin Children's Hospital with the Sam Maguire.

ATHLETICS

Sharlene Mawdsley's chances of taking part in the European Athletics Championships will become clearer over the coming days.

The 200 metre runner picked up an injury in Saturday's National Track and Field final, which will reportedly require a scan to determine her availability.

Rhasidat Adeleke booked her place by claiming gold in that race with a championship record on Saturday, while Sophie O'Sullivan also set a championship record on her way to the women's 1,500-metre title yesterday.

Ciaran Neville claimed the women's 100 metres. Benjamin Richardson won the men's sprint, while Jack Raftery secured the national 400 metre for the third year in a row.

Olympic pommel horse Champion Rhys McLeneghan will look to upgrade his silver medal from the 2022 Commonwealth Games this afternoon.

The Down native booked his spot in the individual apparatus final, having missed all of 2025 due to a shoulder injury.

That gets underway at around lunchtime.

SOCCER

Paris Saint Germain have reportedly dropped out of the race to sign Ivory Coast international Yan Diomande.

The RB Leipzig winger starred at the World Cup, and had been linked with a move to the Parisians and Real Madrid.

The Spanish giants now appear to be frontrunners to land his signature.

Luke Littler has made it back to back titles at the World Matchplay in Blackpool.

The 19 year old won 18-9 against the 2022 runner up Gerwyn Price in last night's final.

While Beau Greaves pipped Fallon Sherrock in the final leg of the women's decider.
