Novak Djokovic is out of the U.S Open.

The Serbian suffered a three sets to two defeat to Mariano Navone in Flushing Meadows this morning.

The 24-time Grand Slam champion broke down in tears before the end of his match, as he lost the second, third and fifth sets in a five-set thriller.

It is Djokovic's earliest exit at a Grand Slam in over 20 years and it was the longest opening match that he has taken part in at a major.

His pursuit of a record-breaking 25th slam will now go into 2027.

SOCCER

There is one game in the Premier League tonight.

Aston Villa welcome Arsenal to Villa Park.

Arsenal got their defence of the title off to the perfect start on the opening weekend with a 3-0 victory at home to Coventry City.

Villa's first game of the season ended in a 4-0 defeat away to Brighton, with kick-off at 8pm.

Rory McIlroy had to make do with a tie for fourth place.

The Masters champion couldn't build on Saturday's seven-under-par round, as he signed off on a final round one-under-par 69 to finish on 11-under.
