Athy are Joe Mallon Motors 2025 county senior football champions.
In a pulsating game yesterday, they stopped Naas's 5 in-a-row beating them 1-17 to 0-18 points.
Naas led by 4 points after 20 minutes, but a goal from Barry Kelly: he scored 1-3, and points from Niall Kelly and Cathal McCarron saw Athy lead1-7 to 9 points at the break.
Midway through the 2nd half, Athy led by 5 points, but, Naas reduced that lead to 2 points in added time, and with the last kick of the game, Ryan Sinkey's two point effort to force extra time was just wide of the post.
Player of the match was Barry Kelly, whose 1-3 turned the tide for Athy.
Sallins are Intermediate champions, and will play senior next year, following Saturday's 1-19 to 0-12 points win over St. Laurences.
Naas are Minor A champions after yesterday's one point win over Maynooth by 1-16 to 3-9
The Naas captain is Cian McKevitt, while Liam Kenny was named Player of the Match.
