SOCCER
Denise O'Sullivan could yet feature for the Republic of Ireland in Thursday's World Cup opener against Australia.
The midfielder is taking part in training this morning, having sustained a shin injury in last Friday's friendly against Colombia.
Ireland boss Vera Pauw says he has 'good hopes' O'Sullivan will play a part later this week, but that it's still too early to give a definitive answer.
The manager is looking forward to Thursday's match, which will take place in front of a sell-out crowd in Sydney.

Manchester United are understood to have reached agreement with Marcus Rashford over a new contract.
The England international is set to sign a new five-year-deal.
Rashford was in fine form last season, scoring 30 goals in all competitions for Erik ten Hag's side.

New Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou says "nothing earth-shattering" has happened in conversations with Harry Kane since his arrival at the club.
The England captain has been linked with a move away from Spurs - with Bayern Munich confident of securing his services.
Kane has travelled with the Tottenham squad on their pre-season tour to Australia.

RUGBY
Ireland captain Johnny Sexton has been hit with a three-match suspension.
The Leinster out-half was charged with misconduct for his behaviour towards match officials at the Heineken Champions Cup final in May.
It means Sexton will miss Ireland's Rugby World Cup warm-up matches against Italy, England and Samoa next month.
But he's clear to play in the tournament itself, which begins with a pool match against Romania on September 9th.
