Republic of Ireland's Under-21 boss Jim Crawford has described Gabon's no-show for a friendly match as a 'real mess'.

Ireland were due to play the African side tomorrow in Austria but their opponents decided not to travel.

The Irish boss has admitted that he would have brought a smaller squad for just two matches.

Ukraine and Kuwait have made the trip to Austria and will take on Crawford's side on Friday and Monday respectively.
