Ruaidhri Higgins three-and-half year tenure as Derry City manager has come to an end.

Higgins departs the Candystripes in the wake of their FAI Cup final loss to Drogheda last Sunday.

Derry's bid for a double collapsed in recent weeks with Shelbourne finishing ahead of them in the Premier Division title race.

The club say their 2022 Cup winning boss had his contract terminated by 'mutual consent'.

Patrick McEleney has also departed the Brandywell the morning with the playmaker signing for Irish League team Ballymena United.
