Soccer

In the League of Ireland Premier Division, Shamrock Rovers' lead has been cut to three points.

Saint Pat's picked up a crucial 2-nil win over their title rivals Rovers last night.

Bohemians are also within three points of the leaders this morning after their comeback 3-2 victory at Galway United.

Derry City snatched a late 1-nil win at Shelbourne and it was 1-all between Waterford and Dundalk.

Sligo Rovers are now eight points adrift at the bottom of the table following their 2-nil loss to Drogheda United.

In the Premier League, there are seven games down for decision today.

Five games kick off at 3 o’clock, with Liverpool playing Fulham, Chelsea playing Hull City, Aston Villa playing Nottingham Forest, Crystal Palace playing Ipswich, while Keith Andrew’s Brentford are away to Bournemouth.

Tottenham are still searching for their first win of the season when they are home to Everton at half-five.

And tonight, reigning champions Arsenal can move three points clear at the top when they play Sunderland, kick off is at 8 o’clock.

Golf

In golf, Shane Lowry holds a three-shot lead into today's third-round at the Irish Open.

The Offaly man will tee-off from 11-under-par after his course-record 62 at Trump International in Doonbeg yesterday afternoon.

Lowry knows he'll need another two strong rounds if he's to win the tournament for a second time:

Defending champion Rory McIlroy is back out from two-under and says he'll need to improve his putting if he's to contend this weekend.

While Tom McKibbin comes into day three at five-under.

US President Donald Trump is expected to arrive at his course during the third-round.
