Kildare play Kerry in the All Ireland Minor Championship

GAELIC GAMES

Kildare take on Kerry in the quarter finals of the Electric Ireland All Ireland Minor Football Championship this afternoon.

The sides will meet at UPMC Nowlan Park in Kilkenny at 3pm.

There will be full commentary on KFM.

Seamus Dillon and Philie Wolfe will describe the action.

It is one of four Minor quarter finals down for decision today.

Dublin and Cork throw in Kilkenny at 1.00.

Derry and Galway meet in Carrick on Shannon at 3.30.

Followed by the meeting of Mayo and Monaghan.

 

The Tailteann Cup enters the preliminary quarter-final stage.

First up Offaly welcome Wexford to Glenisk O'Connor Park where there's a 4-o'clock start.

Then an hour later New York will look to replicate the magic they enjoyed at the start of the season when they face Carlow at Netwatch Cullen Park.

While later on this evening Fermanagh against Laois is at Brewster Park and Down take on Longford in Newry.

First up Tipperary host Dublin from 5-o'clock this evening while an hour later Kilkenny welcome Wexford to UPMC Nowlan Park.

Manchester City are aiming to win the Champions League for the first time and complete the treble tonight.

They play Inter Milan in the final in Istanbul at 8.00.

City, have already secured the Premier League title and the FA Cup, are can match Manchester United's treble achievement from 1999.

Inter, who won this season's Italian Cup, are three-time European champions.

 

Champions Shamrock Rovers are six points clear at the top of the SSE Airtricity Premier Division table this morning.

They beat Dublin neighbours UCD 4-0 at Tallaght Stadium last night.

Jack Byrne, Graham Burke and Kieran Cruise all found the back of the net for Stephen Bradley's side with an own-goal too from Harvey O'Brien.

Meanwhile it finished scoreless between second-placed Derry City and Bohemians at The Ryan McBride Brandywell.

The hosts had calls for a penalty late on denied.

Elsewhere, Dundalk came from behind to beat Cork City 2-1 away from home,

Drogheda beat St.Pat's 2-1 with a 94th minute winner from Darragh Markey while Shelbourne and Sligo Rovers played out a 1-1 draw at Tolka Park.
