It is big day for Allenwood & Milltown.

GAELIC GAMES

It is a massive day for Kildare football.

Two clubs can secure their place in an All Ireland final, while the county senior footballers aim for back to back wins in the O’Byrne Cup.

One o’clock is the start time for the AIB All Ireland Intermediate semi final between Allenwood and St. Patrick’s Cullyhanna in Navan and the Junior semi final between Milltown and Arva near Mullingar.

Then at 1.30, Glenn Ryan’s Kildare team take on Wexford in the quarter finals of the  O’Byrne Cup.

That match takes place at Wexford Park.

SOCCER

There are 19 FA Cup third round ties down for decision today.

The Tyne Wear Derby is among the early kick offs, with Sunderland at home to Newcastle from 12.45.

At 3pm, Brighton go to Stoke and new boss Steve Spooner takes charge of Birmingham City for their meeting with Hull.

Chelsea play Preston North End from half five, with Middlesbrough at home to Aston Villa at the same time.

10-man Wolves battled to a 1-all draw with Brentford last night.

Tottenham beat Burnley by a goal to nil.

Fulham progressed courtesy of a 1-nil win over Rotherham.

 

GOLF

Seamus Power is 4 under par heading into the third round of the Sentry tournament in
Hawaii.

Power is the only Irish player in the field.

Scottie Scheffler holds a one shot lead on 16 under.


RACING

Cork hosts a seven-race card this afternoon.

The first goes to post at 12.12.
