All 4 Provinces face French opposition in the Champions Cup

The Kildare senior hurling team for tomorrow's Kehoe Cup opener has been named.

New manager Brian Dowling takes charge of his first competitive game away to Wicklow

The team includes newcomers Harry Carroll, Daire Guerin, Conn Kehoe, Muiris Curtin and James Dolan.

And there is a return of former stalwarts Jack Sheridan and Mark Grace.

The game throws in in Bray at 1.30 tomorrow.

1.30 is also the start time for today’s O’Byrne Cup semi final between Dublin and Wexford, who beat Kildare last week.

That match will be played at Parnell Park.


RUGBY

All four Irish provinces face French opposition in the Investec Champions Cup today.

Irish winger James Lowe makes his first appearance of the season for Leinster, as they host Stade Francais in Pool 4.

Kick-off at the Aviva Stadium it at 5.15.

Peter O’Mahony is back in the Munster starting fifteen for this afternoon’s Pool 3 contest away to Toulon.

Last night in that pool, Northampton did something of a favour for Munster by thrashing Bayonne by 61-points to 14.

Connacht, need to take something from Pool 1 match at Lyon at 1.00.

And Kingspan Stadium is sold out for Ulster’s Pool 2 encounter with a star-studded Toulouse at 8.00.

 

SOCCER

There are just two games in the Premier League today.

The first is the lunchtime meeting of West London neighbours Chelsea and Fulham.

Manchester City can close the gap on leaders Liverpool to just two-points with victory away to Newcastle at 5.30.


GOLF

Rory McIlroy is two shots off the lead during the third round of the Dubai Invitational

The Ulsterman lies on 1 under par.

Tommy Fleetwood sits on top of the leaderboard on 13 under.


RACING

There’s a seven-race card at Fairyhouse today, with the first off at 12.12.
