Both Kildare Ladies and Hurling Teams Names

GAELIC GAMES

Kildare have named an unchanged team for tomorrow's LGFA senior championship opener against  All Ireland Champions Dublin at Parnell Park.

Diane O’Hora and her Management Team have selected the same 15 that began the  Lidl LGFA Division 2 League Final against Tyrone two weeks ago.

It will be Kildare’s first senior championship game in seven years.


Kildare senior hurling manager Brian Dowling has made a number of changes for tomorrow's Christy Ring Cup match against Wicklow at Manguard Park.

Fit again forward Mark Delaney returns to the starting line up.

Cormac Byrne, Harry Carroll, and Conn Kehoe also brought into the side that beat Sligo last time out.

Kfm will have live updates of both games.


The Under 20 Hurlers recorded and impressive 14 point victory over Meath at Manguard Park last night.

A Fionn Maher hatrick helped Kildare to a 3-17 to 12 point victory in the knock out stages of the Leinster championship.

They will now face Laois.

Kildare play Carlow in the Leinster LGFA U14 Platinum Final this afternoon.

Throw in in Portlaoise is 1.45pm.


Derry and Donegal meet in a mouthwatering Ulster Football quarter final this evening.


Mickey Harte's side welcome Jim McGuinness' men to Celtic Park at 6:15pm.


The winner of that one will face either Tyrone or Cavan in the last 4.

There's semi final action in the Connacht Football Championship this afternoon.


Sligo and Galway do battle at 3:30pm in Markievicz Park.

The Munster Football finalists will be decided today as well.


Kerry and Cork renew their rivalry in the pick of the games at 4pm.


Waterford and Clare compete in the second semi final at 6pm.


RACING


There's racing at the Curragh this afternoon.

The first of the 7 racecard goes to post at 1:35pm

Following a dry day yesterday the ground on the straight track is now heavy, soft to heavy in places.

The round track remains heavy.


RUGBY


Ireland face a tough task this afternoon as they go to Twickenham in the Women's Six Nations.

England remain unbeaten in the competition since 2018 and have only conceded one try in 3 games in this year's tournament.

Kick off in London is at 2:15pm.

The other game today sees Italy come up against Scotland at a quarter to 5.

Leinster and Munster are both in South Africa as the URC action continues this weekend.


Leo Cullen's men face the Lions at 2pm Irish Time while the Reds go to the Stormers at 4.05


Shane Jennings starts at fullback for Connacht in their game with Zebre at 7:35pm.

 


SOCCER

Manchester City will look to bounce back from their Champions League defeat to Real Madrid, when they  continue the defence of the FA Cup this afternoon.

Pep Guardiola’s side play Chelsea in the semi-finals at Wembley at 5.15.

There are just 3 Premier League games to be decided this afternoon with a big focus on the race for survival.


Luton play host to Brentford at 3pm knowing a win would take them to 16th in the table and put the Bees in a spot of bother.


At the same time, the bottom two meet at Bramall Lane where Sheffield United host Burnley.


The late game this evening will see Arsenal looking to go back to the top of the table for now.


They travel to Wolves for a 7:30pm kick off.

Here at home, Cork City can stretch their lead at the top of the SSE Airtricity First Division.


They head to bottom side Longford Town who remain without a permanent manager after parting ways with Stephen Henderson this week.
