There has been backlash over the country's human rights record
Saudi Arabia has been confirmed as the host nation for the 2034 men's World Cup - despite backlash over the country's human rights record.
Backlash is also directed towards the desert climate, much in the same way as the Qatar World Cup.
The Football Associations of England and Wales both supported the uncontested bid.
Spain, Portugal and Morocco will jointly host the 2030 edition of the tournament.
