Shamrock Rovers Go Top as League of Ireland Tables Takes Shape

Shamrock Rovers went top of the League of Ireland Premier Division following Friday night's round of fixtures, after a 1-0 win over Waterford at Tallaght Stadium.

Drogheda United edged past Sligo Rovers by the same scoreline, while Shelbourne picked up an important 2-1 away victory against Dundalk.

Elsewhere, Galway United and St Patrick's Athletic shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw, and Bohemians played out a 1-1 draw with Derry City.

The latest standings show Shamrock Rovers leading the way on 28 points after just 14 games, with St Pats just one point behind on 27. Bohemians and Dundalk sit level on 21 points in third and fourth respectively, while Derry City complete the top five on 18 points.
