It was a successful weekend for Kildare GAA and LGFA teams, as both the hurlers and women's footballers won their respective games.
On Saturday, the hurlers made it two wins from two in the Kehoe Cup, as they defeated Down 2-17 to 0-15 points.
Kildare have one more group game against Meath next Saturday at home again in Manguard Park.
Wicklow have withdrawn from the competition, giving a walkover yesterday to Meath and to Down next weekend.
Meanwhile, the Kildare ladies footballers got their league campaign off to a winning start, beating Monaghan in Hawkfield yesterday.
Played in difficult conditions, it finished 1-6 to 0-5 points to the Lillies.
Kildare play Donegal away this Sunday at 12 midday in Round 2.
