GAA

Defeat for Kildare footballers vs Galway last night.

Final score in the All Ireland championship Round 1: Galway 3-21 Kildare 0-17

Playing with the wind in the first half, Kildare trailed 2-8 to 0-12 at half time.

Kildare tried hard in the 2nd half but weren’t able to match Galways’ power as the Tribesmen added 1-13 to Kildare’s 5 points.

Kildare’s next game will be in 3 weeks time.

Elsewhere today Roscommon play Tyrone.

 

Today, Kildare hurlers have their last game in the Leinster senior hurling championship

They play Offaly in Newbridge at 2pm.

Kfm will have full commentary with Ger McNally and Seamus Dillon, in association with Hanlon Concrete, Robertstown

Today at 2pm, Dublin play Kilkenny and Galway play Wexford.

In Munster, Limerick  play Tipperary. Cork play Clare both games at 4.

 

The ladies football adult club finals Divisions 1 to 7 take place today in Sarsfields GAA and Hawkfield

In Sarsfields:

Division 7 at 12.45, Carbury v Naas

Division 5 at 1.30, Castledermot v Strafford

Division 6 at 2.45: Sarsfields v Maynooth

And then Four finals in Hawkfield:

DIVISION 3 at 4pm, Carbury v Celbridge

Division 4 at 4.15, Castlemitchell v Kildangan/Nurney

Divison 2 at 6pm, Confey v Naas

Divison 1 at 6.15, Eadestown v Sarsfields

 

Soccer

It’s the final day of the Premier League, with all games at 4pm:

The relegation battle has gone down to the final day, with Spurs facing Everton, and West Ham up against Leeds United.

In the race for European football, Brighton play Manchester United, Liverpool host Brentford, Chelsea play Sunderland, Bournemouth host

Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa are home to Manchester City.

Champions Arsenal play Crystal Palace, Fulham vs Newcastle, while the already relegated sides Wolves go to Burnley.

 

Golf

Seamus Power is back in action on the final day of the Byron Nelson in Texas.

 

Racing

The racing continues at the Curragh this afternoon, where the 1000 Guineas is the feature

The first race there goes to post at a quarter to two.
