Sunday Sport: Semi Final Line Up Will Be Completed For All Ireland Championship Today.

Another exciting day of racing is expected at The Curragh.

 

The semi-final line up for this year’s All Ireland Senior Football Championship will be completed today.

Derry and Dublin have already booked their places in the last four, following wins over Clare and Cork respectively yesterday.

Today, Galway play Armagh in Croke Park at 1.45pm and that'll be followed by the last quarter final clash with Mayo coming up against Kerry.

Kingdom talisman David Clifford has been named to start after missing their Munster final win over Limerick.

Throw in for that game is at 4pm.

On the local scene, in the UPMC Senior Hurling Championship preliminary round, Naas defeated Leixlip 4-23 to 0-6 yesterday, while Coill Dubh were 0-19 to 1-12 winners over Celbridge.

Today, there are a number of football finals down for decision.

Grangenolvin play Straffan at 6pm in the EMS Copiers SFL Division 4 decider in St Conleth’s Park; before that it’s Athy vs Naas in the Reserve Football League Division 1 final at 4pm.

Manguard Plus Hawkfield also hosts two reserve finals – Carbury vs St Laurence’s in Division 7 at 1.30pm and Confey vs Suncroft in Division 4 at 3pm.

Nine runners are declared for the Group 1 Pretty Polly Stakes at the Curragh today.

The Ed Walker-trained Dreamloper, winner of the Group 1 Prix d'Ispahan at Longchamp last time, heads the field with a strong raiding party strengthened by two from the William Haggas yard, My Astra, the mount of Danny Tudhope and the Tom Marquand-ridden Purplepay.

The Paddy Twomey-trained Rosscarbery will be joined by La Petite Coco

Joseph O'Brien, bidding for a third win in the race as a trainer will run Tranquil Lady.

Aidan O'Brien has Concert Hall while Ger Lyons and Johnny Murtagh have declared Thunder Kiss and Lyrical Poetry respectively. 

The Pretty Polly Stakes goes to post at 3:45pm while the first of the 8 racecard gets underway at 1:40pm.

Kfm will be broadcasting live from the race track with all the action.

Xander Schauffle holds the lead going into the final day of the Traveller’s Championship on the PGA Tour.

He’s on 17 under par, one shot ahead of fellow American, Patrick Cantlay.

Rory McIlroy is in a tie for 31st after the third round.

The four time Major winner shot a round of 72 today to move back to 6 under par.

Meanwhile Waterford's Seamus Power is in a tie for 19th after a level par round of 70 today leaving him 8 under for the tournament.
