Ireland are on track to top Pool B after beating South Africa in Paris last night.

RUGBY

Ireland are closing in on a place in the Rugby World Cup quarter finals after beating world champions South Africa in Paris last night.

Andy Farrell's men won a compelling Pool B showdown at the Stade de France by 13 points to 8.

Ireland weathered an early storm to lead 7-3 at half time - with Mack Hansen scoring Ireland's try.

Cheslin Kolbe sent the Springboks in front with a try early in the second half, but they missed kicks at goal and Ireland won an attritional encounter with penalties by Johnny Sexton and Jack Crowley.

Ireland's final Pool game is against Scotland in two weeks time.

Scotland take on Tonga today with kick off in Nice at 4.45pm.

Australia face elimination from the tournament and need a result against Wales if they're to have any chance of survival.

They face off in Lyon at 8pm.
