RUGBY

Leinster beat the Sale Sharks by 37-27 in Pool 4 of the Investec Champions Cup at the RDS yesterday.
 

Eadestown's Jimmy O'Brien started for Leinster with Suncroft's Sam Prendergast featuring off the bench.


Elsewhere in that pool the champions La Rochelle lost again.


Ronan O'Gara's side were beaten 21-20 by the Stormers.


Ulster meanwhile have got their first win, beating Racing 92  by 31-15 in Pool 2.


Connacht sit bottom of Pool 1 after they were beaten 55-36 by Saracens.

Munster are seeking a first win in this seasons Champions Cup this afternoon.


They make the trip to Sandy Park to take on Exeter in Pool 3 from 1pm.

 

Athy's Jeremy Loughman and Eadestown's Tadhg Beirne are both down to start. 


Peter O'Mahony misses out again this week with a shoulder injury.

There were mixed fortunes for Kildare clubs in the AIL yesterday.

In Division 1B, Highfield beat Naas by 13-12.

In Division 2A, MU Barnhall had a 39-32 victory over Navan.

SOCCER

There are four games in the Premier League this afternoon.


Leaders Liverpool welcome Manchester United to Anfield.


Kick-off is at 4:30pm.


Before that Arsenal welcome Brighton to the Emirates at 2o'clock.

At the same time, West Ham host Wolves and Aston Villa go to Brentford.


Speaking ahead of the game Villa manager Unai Emery says this is a difficult time of year for players with the busy schedule.


He's dealing with a number of injuries and suspensions and they played in Europe on Thursday night.


He says it's tough but they have to get on with it.

Hurling


The line-up for the All-Ireland Club Senior Hurling Championship final will be completed this afternoon.


Kilkenny's O'Loughlin Gaels face Cushendall of Antrim in the last four at Pairc Tailteann from 1:30pm


The winner will take on St. Thomas' of Galway in the decider after they beat Waterford champions Ballygunner on penalties last night.

There's camogie action at Croke Park today.


Sarsfields of Galway take on Kilkenny's Dicksboro in the All-Ireland Club Senior final.


That throws in at 5:15pm with Sarsfields looking to complete a three-in-a-row.


Before that Kerry champions Clanmaurice face Na Fianna from Meath in the intermediate decider.

Two-time champion Gary Anderson cruised to a 3-nil victory over Simon Whitlock in his opening match at the World Darts Championship in London.

There were also wins for Jamie Hughes, Keane Barry and Scott Williams on Saturday night at Alexandra Palace.

Today's action is headlined by Luke Humphries taking on Lee Evans in the evening session.
