Graham Rowntree's side came away from Toulon with a bonus point 29-18 win over the French side.

Connacht fell to another European defeat, with a 34-20 loss away at Lyon.

Leinster strolled to a 43-7 win at home to Stade Francais at the Aviva Stadium.

Ulster were beaten 48-24 by Toulouse.

There were mixed fortunes for Kildare sides in the AIL yesterday.
 
In Division 1B, Highfield beat Naas by 50-12.
 
In Divsion 2A, MU Barnhall had a 24-19 victory over Navan.
 
It was also a  successful day for the MU Barnhall women's team.
 
They retained their All Ireland Junior Cup title with a 15-6 win over Tuam.

Their 81-78 loss drops Celtics to third in the table, three points off of yesterday's opponents who now lead the standings.
