Premier League champions to be crowned on final day of season

Kildare have won a record fourth Christy Ring Cup beating Mayo  by 2.29 to 0-19 in Croke Park on Saturday.

It was 2-17 to 0-8 at half time.

The second half continued in a similar fashion with Kildare cruising to an inevitable win.

Gerry Keegan was flawless with 10 points from play, while James Burke was unerring, hitting 11 points, 6 frees from all distances and a 65.

Niall O’Muineacháin and Paul Divilly have now played in all of Kildare’s four Christy Ring victories.

Kildare now move up to the Joe McDonagh Cup next season and will campaign also in Division 2A of the League

The EMS Copiers Senior Football League final round is being played today with games at 12 noon.

Following this round, Divisions will split into top half promotion and bottom half relegation series play-offs.

Kildare Ladies football continues to enjoy a great season.

The senior team are current Leinster champions.

Yesterday, the minors beat Dublin by 4-7 to 1-11 and are into the Leinster final on July 6th.

The Under 14’s are All Ireland Gold champions.

Yesterday, in Crettyard GAA, they beat Limerick by 2-9 to 0-7

Today sees the Ladies Senior League finals in all 7 Divisions being played in Hawkfield and Moorefield.
